SmartAdTag uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) in its ad serving scripts. Here's what we store and why.

What We Store

Our ad scripts store small amounts of data in your visitors' browsers using localStorage:

• Ad rotation state — tracks which ad source should be shown next, based on your configured weights
• Frequency capping — prevents the same ad from showing too many times in one session
• Slide position — remembers which slide in a rotating ad unit was last shown

What We Don't Store

• No personally identifiable information
• No cross-site tracking data
• No third-party data

Duration

localStorage data persists until cleared by the user or the browser. Our scripts do not set expiry dates — data remains until manually cleared.

Opt-out

Visitors can clear localStorage data through their browser settings. This will reset ad rotation state but has no other effect on browsing.
